Manufacturers' Warranty & Guidelines
Every McKinney Bedding mattress is built with careful attention to detail, durable materials, and craftsmanship that has stood the test of time since 1940. Your warranty is our promise that your mattress will perform as expected when used properly.
What to Expect
Adjustment Period: Switching mattresses means new support, new comfort, and a little patience. It’s normal for your body to take 1 to 4 weeks to adjust while your muscles and joints get familiar with the proper alignment.
Mattress Dimensions: Mattress dimensions can vary slightly based on materials and construction. Industry standards allow for up to a 1-inch tolerance. McKinney Bedding mattress sizes are:
Twin: 38" x 74"
Twin XL: 38" x 80"
Full: 52.5" x 74"
Queen: 60" x 80"
King: 76" x 80"
Cal King: 72" x 84"
What the Warranty Covers
During the applicable warranty period, McKinney Bedding will repair or replace your mattress or foundation if it has a qualifying manufacturing defect. Qualifying defects may include:
• Excessive body impressions or sagging beyond the allowance specified for the model
• Broken coils, wires, or support components
• Split or cracked wood in the foundation (when purchased with a McKinney Bedding mattress)
• Faulty stitching or seam failures that affect performance
What the Warranty Does Not Cover
Certain issues arise from use and environment rather than manufacturing. The warranty does not apply to:
• Normal increase in softness or comfort preferences changing over time
• Mattress damage due to improper foundation or bed frame support
• Stains, soiling, burns, or damage caused by liquids
• Handles damaged due to improper lifting or handling
• Mattresses used commercially unless specified under a commercial warranty
• Transportation or inspection costs when not required by law
Proper Support Requirements
For your warranty to remain valid, the mattress must be used on a supportive, structurally sound foundation or adjustable base that meets McKinney Bedding’s standards. Queen and King sizes require center support and a minimum of five legs.
Example:

Proper Foundation: When purchasing a new mattress, it’s strongly recommended that you also replace your existing box spring or foundation. Using an old foundation with a new mattress can lead to several problems:
• The mattress may feel different at home than it did in the showroom.
• An aging box spring may not provide the support your new mattress needs, reducing comfort and performance.
• Premature sagging or uneven wear can occur, which may also affect warranty coverage.
Proper Care Requirements
Move Your Mattress Properly: Do not fold, bend, or roll your mattress under any circumstances. Damage caused by improper handling or transport will void the warranty.
Rotate Regularly: To maintain even wear, rotate your mattress every 4 weeks. This helps distribute natural compression and preserve long-term comfort.
Keep Your Mattress Clean and Protected: To maintain the integrity of your mattress and keep your warranty valid, it must remain free of stains, spills, and bodily fluids. Any discoloration — including water marks, sweat, urine, blood, or other liquids — will void the warranty, even if the issue is unrelated to the stain.
For best protection:
• Use a high-quality, waterproof mattress protector from day one.
• Avoid placing the mattress directly on the floor, where moisture can collect.
• Do not allow eating, drinking, or pets on the mattress.
• Address accidental spills immediately to prevent permanent absorption.
A clean mattress is not only a warranty requirement — it also helps prevent bacteria, odor, and material breakdown over time.
Body Impressions
The comfort layers in your mattress are designed to contour to your body. Over time, this can create visible body impressions. These impressions are a normal characteristic of high-quality cushioning materials and are not considered a defect.
To help minimize body impressions, your mattress should be rotated regularly—this applies to both one-sided and two-sided models.
Body Impressions: Body impressions occur as the comfort layers settle and adjust to your unique shape. This is expected and does not indicate a structural issue.
Sagging: Sagging is different from body impressions and is most often the result of inadequate support from the bed frame or foundation. A proper foundation with center support is required to maintain warranty coverage and prevent sagging.

How to Measure a Body Impressions
What You’ll Need:
• A straight, rigid object at least the width of the mattress (yardstick, broom handle, level, etc.)
• A ruler or tape measure with inch markings
• A flat, stable surface (your mattress must be lying flat on a proper foundation or the floor)
Step-by-Step Instructions:
-
Remove all bedding.
Take off sheets, mattress protectors, toppers, or any additional padding. The surface must be bare. -
Lay a straightedge across the mattress.
Place it across the area where the impression is deepest. The straightedge must sit level and rest on the highest points of the mattress, not inside the dip. -
Measure the depth at the lowest point.
Use a ruler or tape measure to determine the distance from the bottom of the straightedge down to the deepest part of the impression. -
Record the measurement.
Measure to the nearest 1/8" and take a photo showing the ruler, straightedge, and impression clearly. -
Compare to warranty coverage.
• McKinney Bedding's mattress warranty covers impressions greater than 1.5 inches (without weight applied).

Proof of Warranty Eligibility
To submit a warranty claim, you must provide both of the following:
-
A clear photo of the law tag attached to the mattress.
• The tag must be legible and still sewn to the mattress.
• Tags that are cut, torn off, or unreadable will void the warranty. -
A copy of the original purchase receipt (or invoice).
• Must include purchase date, retailer name, and mattress model.
• Bank/credit card statements are not accepted as a substitute.
Failure to provide both items will result in denial of the claim, regardless of product condition.
